Anyone have one of these? If you do what do you think of it? Not much of a fan of the 40 but I love how these look. I seem to remember them advertised for sale in the late 90s but I had no idea that Colt had any involvement in this project until I saw this video.

My son has one as his edc and he absolutely loves it.  Colt should have had the patience to market it.  He uses Golden Saber hollowpoints as his carry load.

Those who have them must hold on to them tenaciously I go to gun stores as often as I can all over the American west and I have never seen one for sale new or used. I think I saw one in a photography book once. If I had the coin I think I would make a bid on the serial number one or two pistol mentioned in the video if only to have an amusing bit of history. I know Colt has a bad habit of driving off cliffs but this story is completely.

I picked up a LNIB CZ 40 B this year.  It's awesome, seriously.

If I ever run across a Colt Z 40 in decent shape I'll buy it.

I know a guy who had one.  I shot it a few times several years ago.  Was not impressed (DAO).

I don't know if he still has it or not.  He got married and has had some financial issues brought on by the new wife who was using him as a way to pay off her credit card bills, make her house payments, took out loans and got him to cosign, etc.  The other day I found out he'd sold most of his guns and he had some not so common ones (8 shot M870 parkerized 12 ga, Ithaca M37 with GI proofmarks, the previously mentioned Colt/CZ .40, etc.)

Don't marry the wrong woman, she'll bleed you dry.

I have one that my wife bought me as a gift way back in 98/99, it's a .40. I used it on duty off and on for about a year until I found out about the rarity of it. I take it out and shoot it occasionally now. Here is an old pic I have of it.

If any one is interested there is a CZ 40 B on an auction site right now. Not my auction, and price isn't bad.
If I were in the market, I would swoop it up.

I wish I bought one back when they were new. They were as low as about $220 wholesale (I was working at a dealer) in about 2002. There was also a CZ40b (I think, or maybe 40p) that had a CZ75 Compact frame with the same slide that was super cheap.

Yes, the 40P combined the slide of a 40B with the frame of a P01. Sweet looking gun.

Ok, that's what it was 40b and 40p. Been a while. I do kick myself for not getting one, they were so inexpensive.

I purchased one about 2002 or so for just a little over $200. It has the Colt-style grip but is not Colt marked in any way.

Colt didn't just have involvement - CZ helped design the pistol for Colt to get back into the LEO market. Colt then backed out of the deal, and most of them sold as CZ 40's.

Yea so thats a video and he says all that. Derp.

There is a CZ40B in the want to trade firearms section in the EE right now.

Take a CZ 40B, cut down the grip frame and slide length, and voila!  You have a 2075 RAMI.

I have always suspected that this is how CZ amortized the costs of the poor selling CZ 40B.

Hmm, another reason to get a Rami.

As if I needed another reason.

Happy owner of a CZ40B here. I picked mine up about seven years ago for $280. It is one of the finest shooting pistols that I own. I wish CZ would come back our with these.
