Picked this up on gunbroker the other week. Was told it was a surplus gun imported from Israel. It's a CZ 75 compact with a decocker (not a PCR, this one has a steel frame).

I have never seen another one exactly like this in the wild and can barely find mention of this model online. It was up for 3 days on gunbroker with a very reasonable BIN, can't believe someone else didn't snag it before I did. The finish is in OK shape and the bore shows little wear. Had some light surface rust developing in the inside nooks and crannies of the frame so I had to completely detail strip it to clean it up. Was not a fun experience getting the sear cage back together. I ended up replacing all the sear assembly springs as well as installed a new trigger spring and CGW pin. Hopefully it doesn't have to come that far apart again for a very long time. The recoil spring feels weak and badly needs replaced so I have one of those coming in and should be able to shoot it next week!

That's an odd bird. i saw it on gunbroker and mentioned it to another CZ fan because I'd never seen another one like it. What was the production date? I picked up an aluminum framed, safety compact last year that was made in 2000, part of a small run done for Israeli police, I think.

I believe they're still in production, but you can only get them from CZ's Custom Shop:

I kind of want to convert a PCR to SAO. Just to try it.

steel-frame compact decockers are not currently made, they have aluminum frames. The 75BD and 97BD are the only steel decocker guns CZ makes. An SA only PCR would not be a light undertaking. The only way you could do this, barring an unlimited check book, is to find one the the PCR framed, safety equipped compacts that surface as surplus from Israel.

Got my next batch of parts in today, so I popped a fresh 18# recoil spring in it, and changed the mag brake to a modern drop-free one. Switched the beat up plastic grips to the newer-style rubber grips. She's now completely rebuilt and ready for the range. I haven't been this pleased about a gun purchase in a long time

Cool.  Do you plan to carry it?  If so, what kind of holster are you going to use?  I'm currently trying to find a holster for a CZ-75D PCR.

Probably not going to carry this one due to it's rarity. I have a PCR that I can carry.

I saw one, way back when I worked at a local gunshop, didn't know nearly that much about CZ, and the girl who picked it up off layaway wasn't interested in anything but buying it and socking it away in the sock drawer. When I went to CZ-USa about the steel frame decocker many years later, they said they'd never heard of one, might have been a one-of-80 type deal with RSR or something like that.

Nice to see I wasn't seeing things all those years ago.
