Where, oh where, can I get night sights and a good kydex holster for my P-1? Mags I've found, although pricey. Any ideas? Oh, and I need a bunch, not just one. I got the whole family hooked on Grand Power. I'm seriously considering dumping my Glocks.
|
|
[#1]
I dumped my Glock 19 too and havent looked back except that I wish I had the P1 for its size. Buds just had the P1 on sale for $332! I missed that.
Dawson Precision has night sights, but they are listed for the STI GP6 and rather cryptically marked. I bought a Kydex paddle holster from comp-tac, again listed for STI GP6. They make several other versions as well. |
|
[#3]
It works on the P1, the holster is just a little bigger than it needs to be.
BTW, I think you can order parts directly from Grand Power by emailing them. They have better slide releases, safeties and mag releases. I am going to try to get a new hammer for my STI-import pistol as they installed their own brand of hammer before selling. Its supposedly prone to breakage whereas the factory GP hammer isnt. |

Hey Guys,
We should have new guns and parts and accessories headed to the US by late August, or September. We hit one snag that pushed the program back a month or so. If you are stuck for a part, you can go direct to the factory at [email protected], but my suggestion is to just hold tight. For competition holsters, DAA are a good source. Ghost make a block for their race holster for the Mk7 guns and we hope they will also have them for the new Mk12 coming in. I'm working on getting CAD drawings to the major holster makers. As for swapping out the STI hammers.... If yours is working, have no fear. The later STI hammers worked fine. It was just a matter of the grade of steel used in their first batch. They used a hard tool steel that probably would never fail in a 1911, but was too hard for the GP hammer design. On the first deliveries, we will have X-Caliburs, K100, X-Trim, P1, P1 Ultra, P11, P40, and P45's In early 2015 we should be shipping the P1S, P40L, P45L, all our .380 models, and our .22lr K22S and K22 X-trim's. |
|
[#5]
Cant wait to see the P11 and X-Calibur models. Any word on the importer? Fingers crossed that mags prices will drop! Do you think we will see K100 Whisper threaded barrels becoming available in North America?

You may see an X-Calibur at a USPSA match this September. The K100 Whisper barrel is not threaded. Our 9mm suppressor uses a QD attachment system and the barrel is grooved. The .380 Whisper and K22 Whisper barrels are threaded. |

So the first deliveries of pistols you mentioned will be in the U.S by late August early September? If so...... that is awesome |

[#8]
That is good news. I am excited about the P45.
And parts availability. I have a friend who has an STI that has consistent issues. I believe this is because of STI work (all other GP pistols are running 100%, including one STI GP) It doesnt cycle well with lower-powered ammo - that results in FTF. The pistol FTEs about 10% which I think is the ejector. So parts would be nice. |

Any recent news about new GP pistols/magazines making across the pond?
I'm really interested in the P1 for CCW. However, I do need to have 10rd mags. Any 10 rounders making it across, too? |

Just saw the MSRPs. $629 for the K100, $615 for the P11, $819 for the P45, and 999 for the x-calibur. Its about what I expected, except that the P45 was about 100 bucks higher - if the P45 going to compete with Glocks, M&Ps, etc its street price should be under 600.

I got it from one of the wholesalers, I dont remember which one but I see now that http://www.galleryofguns.com/ has them listed. As far as I can see now one has them in stock yet.

Oh I am going to buy a P45, I am just bellyaching over the price. GP will have an easier time gaining acceptance with a more aggressive price. STI marketed the GP6/K100 for 650 or so. Century came in and they became 430 dollar pistols, and then last summer they could be had on clearance for 350. So you are working against that knowledge that the distributor is making out here. As for the The K100s and P1s are back up to 430 now, who is going to spend an extra 100-200 dollars (guessing as I dont know street price) for the Mk17 frame?
That said, videos are nice and all, but I want a P45 now. |
|
[#26]
I paid $350 for my K100, and $335 for P1 brand new.I really can't see myself spending over $400 for their newest pistols. Maybe more for their competition ones. It's a good pistol, but not $600 good.

Its worth 100 bucks more than a Glock on account of trigger and smooth action. As I mentioned in the previous post the prices on the Mk7 framed guns imported by CAI will build some price resistance on the standard models. The X-caliburs should sell itself, but thats a different market.

Why are you comparing striker fired pistols? The prices seem low, VP9s go for 700+ and PPQs for 550. And the PPQ isnt rated for +P+, just +P? Regardless the quality of the K100 is quite good excepting the chintzy slide release and safety. I havent shot either though so cant make that comparison. Its obviously subjective, but I will say that I enjoy shooting the K100 more than the P30.

I'm not bashing the quality of the K100 as I own two, but I paid $700 for TWO. CZ75 clones sell for $300-$400, if you want to bring up non-striker guns. Enjoy the K100. But, the notion that the market would sustain a $600 relatively unknown polymer pistol is silly. |

Does anybody know of a place that already has the GP on stock/for sale?

Bosnian I agree, street prices should be at or under a Glock. Parts need to be available though, because no one wants an unsupported gun.
Jgsales.com has the old Mk7 framed pistols in stock for 430. |

Canuck, I was comparing one of the G series STI imports to one of the newer 3k century imports. I noticed that the 3k barrel has less chamfer on chamber. Both are fully supported chambers (something the 10mm guys are hoping for in upcoming 10mm GP) Why did that change? And speaking of change are barrels interchangeable on varying series?

View Quote I'll ask the boss at SHOT. For a subcompact, I'm torn. I like the P11 a lot. I find most subcompacts to have the ergonomics of a brick, and tend to kick harder than the full size models. The P11 has a nicely reduced grip size but is still easy to grip, and barely kicks. Still, I might opt for the P1S which uses the same grip but the longer P1 slide and barrel. Longer sight radius, just as easy to hide.... |

I noted on a GP P45 I saw recently the importer stamp of RSA Enterprise, Ocean NJ. I thought the importer was Eagle? The P45 I saw did not have a fiber front, but the standard white dot version. Which is it, for I see other distributors showing the P45 with a fiber front sight. Because of the two issues noted, was what I saw an early import?

The price seems really high on these compared to the MK7. When they were sold by STI, they were overpriced and didn't sell well. Canik and SAR pistols sell pretty well because of the price point.
