I really want one of these as opposed to an XDS.  I was going to get the .45 so I can share mags with my XD .45 Tactical but the thought occurred that carrying it a 9mm may work better especially with the advances in ammo.  Which would be a better choice.  9mm or the .45 for sharing purposes.  I shoot more .45 out of my 1911's but have a couple 9mm's so it is not a new caliber.  Is one version better for some odd reason other than the fact the 9mm version is a lot cheaper

Love them both.  Pick your favorite flavor and go.

Tough choice.  I have the 9 and my son has the 45.  We both love both.  We both have the PRP trigger which is a must in my opinion.  I do wish Springfield would offer a slide conversion kit similar to EAA.  I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Can't say one over the other...but I sent my 3.8 compact .45 to SAC for a tune...
huge improvement over out of the box, 4.5 lb trigger, action work, HD sights,
excellent , accurate shooter.
But... I'm still a 1911 guy.

I love that big ol' 230gr bullet. I have the XDm 3.8 compact in 45 ACP and love it. Trigger was a nice 5 1/2 pounds out of the box. Or maybe the 1300 rounds lightened it up. Anyway, don't need a PRP trigger on mine.

Nothing wrong with 9mm if that's what you like.

You get a few more rounds of capacity. But 9 +1 is plenty for me.  Or 13 +1 with the extended mag.

I have the 9mm Xdm compact. Love it. It comes down to which one do you shoot better. See if you can't rent them or find a way to shoot both.
