I got the hogue's for my 2.5" 686, they looked to big on it. tried them on my 6" 686 but they looked too small on that one. Just picked up a model 69, they actually look good on it.

Ahh yes, the classic "Mama Bear" always turns out to be "just right". ;)  (I know that's not how the story goes, but it sounds good here.)

But to be a little critical; the extreme round butt on those Hogues makes itself a bit difficult to "look good" on very many pistols, which answers the question; "Does this butt make my gun look big?"

Yes. Yes it does. ;)

egads

I let my hands pick my revolver grips.  I could care less what they look like as long as they give me a good grip on the revolver and they are comfortable to my hands.

Running Hogue rubber grips on all my N-frames.  I cut the grip down behind the cyclinder release to make it easier to release the cyclinder and give me a shelf to put my thumb on.

I actually found I really like the new rubber grips that come on the new 69 and 66 models so I picked up a used set to put on my carry around the farm Model 10.

I think the factory grips are comfortable but ugly as hell. I wish they would have just kept putting the hogue's on them like they use too.

Looked up the model number , Knew there was a 5 shot 44sp but did not realize there was a 5 shot 44mag on the L frame.
Not at all sure what I think about this

Nice stocks! On my N frame round butts I prefer the look of the round butt to square butt conversion stocks.

in all honesty I prefer the square butt conversion grips myself. I picked these up with the intentions of using them on my 2.5" 686 but I didn't like how big they looked.so I took them off and set them aside, figured someday I pick up something else to try them on. hate having $60 set of grips just sitting in a drawer.

I have figured out that my hands like Ahrends, whether it's on a K-frame or an N-frame.

At least one set was my fault this time.

10gr of UNIQUE and a 240gr would be a great load for that gun

enough to get the job done without beating you up

I've been lusting after a 69 to go with my 65... how are you liking it?

I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I do not foresee any dislikes about. It's has a very comfortable feel and balances well to boot.

I put these Ahrends on my custom 5" 686

. . . . but I've been thinking about getting some of these...

I had the opposite problem, had a set of those on 629 with 6 inch and they were too small.  When I got the 625 PC I tried them on it and like the looks and balance.  I am going to stipple the wood very soon to get a better purchase when shooting. I had planned to get a set of Ahrends but will probably pass unless I can see the set as I don't like buying sight un seen.

get some of these,  I had them on my 629 and the cushioned backstrap soaks up the recoil.

designed for the Giant X-frame, they fit the N, and I heard they fit the L-frames too...
