Mine is very accurate with a mild load...the old Lyman #42798 bullet (200 gr flat point and intended for the .44-40 ) and a light charge of 700-X
I've killed  a few deer with mine using 180 gr Sierra bullet. My wife has a blue 29-2 and she has killed a LOT of deer with hers.

I got my blued 29-2 last winter and it is definitely a "never-part-with" gun.

Nice catch.

I saw a blue 6" at a local shop (SoCal) for $1k. Went in a week later and it was gone. I would have bought it if I had the money.

I sold a Nickel 8 3/8" barrel last year for $750.  I kind of regret it now.  It wasn't perfect, but it was still nice!

I'm gonna have to quit calling you Spaxxie and start calling you "Dirty Spaxxie"!! LOL.  That is definitely the quintessential S&W 29...it's beautiful.  Congrats.

Mine looks like it doesn't even belong in the same family but I like it .

Just checking. A lot of these things seem to sit in the box in the safe, akin to rolling that 911 off the trailer and into the garage or climate controlled storage.

Nice, I have a 4" Nickel that is supposedly unfired, however a couple of the side plate screws have been buggered a bit.   Seems near impossible to find a proper nickel screw replacement, you think someone would be in the business of buy regular blued screws and having them nickeled.

I would normally say those buggered screws are indicative of a fired gun, but there are a lot of people that can't leave anything alone.  esp. when it comes to guns.   I would bet half the S&W revolvers that ever needed their side plates removed for work were due to the owner taking the sideplate off and messing them up.

I remembered my father always talking about the blued 6-1/2" 29-2 he bought when I was born. Years later he had to sell it when we fell on hard times and he really missed it.

Fast forward some 30+ years later, I see a 6-1/2" 29-2 made in the same year as my father's. I traded for it and took my father out shooting later that day. He told me it was a beautiful gun and that I'd really enjoy it. I told him no, I wouldn't be enjoying it, he would be, and gave it to him. That's only temporary though. I still know who has his original gun and I won't give up until I convince the current owner to sell it to me so it comes back home where it belongs.

Beautiful revolver Spax. Congrats. I have a 6" 29 no dash in the blued version. You'll love it.
