I bought this 1999 production Vaquero .45LC Friday and knew it needed a holster. So after I removed the "Warning...banner" from the barrel this morning I decided to make it today. Here is the finished holster.....

How is the warning removed?

I sanded it off then polished it. No more warning paragraph stamped into the barrel.

Nice work, brother!  Wish you could do me a pocket holster for my S&W Model 638.

Nice holster.  Could you please post a close up pic of the barrel where you sanded the warning off?

Nice work!

Did you freehand your design or use a template? I'm wanting to do similar style holsters for my S&W 629 V-Comp, GP100 and Blackhawk but I'm never quite happy with my hand drawn templates.  I may end up going with a Tandy template and modifying it but I'm indecisive at the moment.

How did you do the loop for the belt to pass through?  How was it attached?

Can you show a pic of the back?  That would probably tell the story.

Thanks.

Pic... remember that I don't do the backsides to be pretty.

I make my own patterns for different models and/or barrel lengths.

I used 1mm waxed cotton thread from the leather section in Hobby Lobby cause it's very durable and tuff.
