the 3" is a bit tougher to find.. but for light..

The .22 Magnum Smith 351PD Airweight is just 10.8oz;

Bumping up to the .357 340pd gets you 11.4oz (And stings like a bitch...)

I handled one today and was impressed by how light it was.  I wasn't impressed by the $500 price tag.  If it were 9mm or .22mag it'd be mine tho.

the .38 +P is a great defense round, and the .38 +P+ for a duty carry round is excellent and more powerful if you think you need it. AND you can load and shoot mid-range .38
Spl's as a fun shooting round for the range. Also the ammo can be found everywhere and can be cheaply and easily reloaded, even with hand tools (Lee Loader) if needed....<><....:)

Nope, the S&W titanium airweights are lighter.  I've got a 360PD with a 3" barrel and it's listed as 14.7oz; the current offering is 1.8" and it's 11.4oz.  .357 feels like having your hand smacked by a hammer handle and .38s +Ps aren't a whole lot more fun.  I've got a 642 so I didn't think it's be that much difference but the lighter weight is definitely noticeable; I bought it for hiking but I wish I'd bought a plain model 60.

I'll buy one in .22lr if they ever make it in that caliber. I've held off on buying any .22 handguns, but a lightweight option like the 3" LCR appeals to me.

I would buy a 22lr version as well.

Would consider a 357 version.

Best deal on the market for a carry/home defense revolver.   Get some 158 gr +P Buffalo Bore ammo and it is close to short barreled 357 Magnum velocity.  Ugly, but those adjustable sights make sense.

Sounds good as a defense gun with that BB +P ammo. I wonder if you could put the shorter grips from a regular short barreled LCR on the 3" version?
The long grip on the 3" barreled gun looks very hard to carry concealed....<><....:)

I really wish they'd do the 3" in the 9mm version. That'd be a buy new gun.

Another vote for .22LR.  It would be an excellent "teaching" gun.

It'd be a great wood's gun or trapline gun too.

Not familiar with these guns.  Is that an alloy frame and barrel shroud?

The frame is pretty unique on them, it's aluminum with a polymer trigger housing. That's how they got them so light.

I have the short LCR .22 and .38 and love them both. Will buy the 3" guns if/when they become available.
