Ok, I am looking to replace my factory Kimber recoil spring with a wilson 22# flat wire spring. Can I get just the spring or do I need to get the full Wilson Kit? Its a Pro Carry 2 so it has the full length guide rod. Spring is this onehttp://shopwilsoncombat.com/Flat-Wire-Recoil-Spring-4-Compact-22/productinfo/651C22/ which is a direct replacement for the full kit http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Flat-Wire-Recoil-Spring-Kit-4-Compact-45-ACP/productinfo/651/. Just trying to save $40 if I can. My factory spring is starting to show a little age after approximately 1k rounds. I have had 1 or 2 spent cases hit me in the forehead and had 1 ftf when returning it to battery the proper way when inserting a mag after doing some dry draw drills. I'm actually surprised it has last this long with just this. Kimber rates the factory spring to be replaced every 600 rounds. And yes I posted this on another forum as well. Figured its best to get as many opinions as possible.
