Well I did it.  I managed to wear out the recoil spring on my USPc .40 and I need a replacement.  It's beginning to unlock too early after firing.  A face full of powder from shooting some SD ammo means it's time to give the old girl a rehab.


Problem is, nobody has the recoil spring assembly in stock.  It's been on perpetual backorder from HK USA (in Georgia).  HKparts.net hasn't had them in stock for months.


Anybody got a parts place I can look at?


FWIW, I shot this pistol for 5 years in IDPA biweekly matches, always goes on plinking trips.  If I had to guess, I'd put the round count somewhere in the 10-15k range on this recoil spring assembly.

You're probably going to just have to get on HKParts waiting list.

I haven't found any in-stock online.

Try Wolff Gunsprings and ISMI springs.

I was afraid of that.  I'm on the waiting list for the US distributor.  They'll bill and ship to me when they come in.  They just haven't come in.

Another option I had considered.  The spring is captured on the compact model, but I can simply replace with an aftermarket source.  Was hoping for HK parts, but this may be the only option for me.

HK in Georgia called me today.  my parts have come in and are being shipped.

A few months back I ordered a whole spring assy for my HK USP  45 direct from H&K USA  they shipped it within 2 weeks and it was on time from when they told me it would arrive.

Was not expensive either

No the parts weren't bad at all.  The spring assembly was $45 and the hammer strut was ~$8 or so.  Total bill with shipping was under $55.
