trying to decide between the stainless xse or combat elite.  I Like the Elite look but worried about easy corrosion.  Any suggestions.  Thanks.

My Elite is 7 years old and no corrosion, with proper maintenance you should never have corrosion problems with any firearm.

Of the 2 you mentioned, I'd go with the Elite based on looks but either is a good choice.

The Colt XSE in any flavor will be a fine first 1911 for you.

If you plan to carry alot I'd consider the Lightweight XSE.
