What's the going rate on a Colt 1991A2. Looking more of the value not what a good deal buying would be. Has original grips too

I have run across a few of these in stores and the price is always pretty high. The gun only went for $500 -$550 new and I recently saw a store asking $800 for a used one with some finish wear and a few minor mods on it.
This week I ran across a used Lightweight Commander with finish wear on the frame and the grip screws had rust. So this gun had been carried quite a bit. Store had $800 on it. I walked out. Brand spanking new Colt Commanders only go for about $200 more!
Yes they are Colts, But I don't think they should cost more used than they did new.

Early run parked model in VG condition. Start at  $650.00, that is a very fair price. Dump the  grips and put some decent looking one's on it, those may work OK but they ;look like hell if you're trying to sell it. The original grips tended to crack very easily which is why so many are found with aftermarket grips.

The only downside is hat some people don't like the ORM and that some from that era had MIM extractors which didn't work well. Colt stopped using them after a short time. [they won't hold a proper tension and don't take adjustment well]

Actually traded to a guy today who had been wanting it. Got a like new Glock 21 Gen4 and super clean taurus 38 snub nose. Also gave a holster and dual mag holder for the Glock

In my area they would be around $600-$650.

I bought that same gun about a year ago in pretty decent condition for right at 500. The older roll mark model (that one) are worth a little less just because they don't look as good

The last time they sold for $550 new was a decade ago.

They should sell for whatever the market will bear.  Right now, that's about $650 used in very good condition.  $700-$750 LNIB

$500-$550 in 2014 will get you the best 1911 Turkey or The Phililpeans can offer however,

They actually went for about $350 brand new back in '91-'92 when they first hit the stores. They also came with a plastic msh, plastic trigger shoe, plastic/hard rubber grips and plastic GI-style short guide rod.

I have a mild custom 1991A1 that was purchased new around that time and reworked by a 'smith in NH.

NY is high priced and a clean used 1991 normally sells for $700-750 around here. YMMV. Pretty close to new price.
