I have had the opportunity to use quite a few different lights. Everything from Insight, Inforce, Streamlight, Sure-Fire, etc. they are all good lights, but I prefer the Streamlight TLR-1 over all of them. The Streamlight is affordable, durable, throws a quality beam, has a good runtime and I prefer its switch over the Sure-Fire. I've been running my TLR-1 for three years and beat it up pretty badly, but it just keeps chugging. My Sure-Fire x-300 Ultra sits in a drawer most of the time.
Don't get me wrong, the Sure-Fire is built like a tank, and if I was running it on a carbine, it's switch would be preferable over the Streamlight, but for a handgun, my choice is the Streamlight.
My advice is to ask around and see if anyone in your circle has lights to try out. Gets your hands on as many as possible and see which you prefer.
Good luck on the move.
