Seriously considering buying one. Worth it?

I'm constantly looking at this

I don't like the idea of having to do significant modification (and risk inducing malfunctions) just to add a laser which is of dubious usefulness. Plus the cost is excessive and the lens positioning means it gets dirty from muzzle blast. If I wanted to add a laser to that gun I would look at the Crimson Trace Lasergrips.

Forgo the Lasermax. Not the most reliable laser technology.

If you really want a laser option, seriously consider a Crimson Trace

My pistol is a prior duty gun for an area PD. When I bought it directly from that agency, the Lasermax take down lever was still installed but the laser and remaining parts were replaced with standard guide rod/spring. I just figured it was a good product/reliable if it was used by LEO. Go figure.
