HPs in general are pretty velocity dependent, but it looks like the Critical Duty design REALLY doesn't like barrels shorter than dutysized guns.

IIRC, JW777 mentioned in another thread that at least one PD who issued the CD rounds was pretty surprised that they didnt open at all in wounded deer.

Hornady LE website shows the critical duty FBI test results, they also posted videos on YouTube.
