Saw that SGAmmo put this ammo on sale for $269/K.

I realize it isn't HST or Ranger T, but I already have a few K of Ranger T put back. I saw some youtube vids and read some anecdotal stuff about a few vendors that supposedly sell this stuff to various local LEs, so it can't be all that bad, can it?

Any thoughts since it's on sale right now? Worth it to pick up a case or two to put back or take a hard pass?

Ask @BlueFalcon if he ever got around to gel testing it. I sent him a box of 50 a little while back but haven't seen him post the results yet.

Top right, Speer GDHP. Bottom right is the Magtech Bonded First Defense.

From my notes, the Magtech with bare gel was 13.6 inches and through a pair of levis and an old army OD undershirt was 16.1 inches.

It was tested with the day's temperature of 96 degrees with 15% humidity.

Yeah, the cost of premium ammo is still justified. A larger channel is probably going to post a video about this ammo soon and I predict that it won't do any better from a 4.5" barrel vs. four layers of denim.

Is there a quick reference/cliff notes text of the results?

Not as good as Ranger T/HST?
Better than __________?
Works fine against bad guys w/o shirt or naked, but not so good against someone armored up with old sweat socks?

Works fine in 5" or longer barrel - not for compact/subcompact guns with barrel <5"?

Feel free to add whatever else?

Any idea on testing specifics that Magtech/CBC used on their website and how they compare? Both the 9mm rounds seemed to perform decent in those tests, but they just say "FBI Protocol Tests".

Barely inadequate penetration in bare gel. Failure to expand through clothing.

Gimmick ammo is Atomic

To the left was shot through jeans and an old Army T, the right was without. Both were complete pass through's.
