I have a 625-3 in .45acp with under lug in matte stainless on the side it says 45 cal model of 1989 does anyone else have or seen one and how come don't hear anything on it

I have a 3" version of this revolver. Your -3 was probably made between 1990 - 1993 and was also made in .45 Colt. Of course the Model 625 is still made today thru the -11 variation but the "model of 1989" is no longer marked on the barrel. I'm not sure when the barrel marking ceased.

Through the  -5 at least. My -5 is marked that. My -2 is marked model of 1988.

I had one; pretty good shooter too. I used it as a pin gun for a while but sold it once I quit shooting competitions. In the N frames the Magnum calibers are more popular.

Have a 4" Model of 1989 625-3.  Had it out at the range yesterday for some steel plate action.  Tight chamber/cylinder dimensions, literally match tight,  shoots very well.

OP, I just bought a 625-8 "Jerry Miculek" 4" barreled version Thursday in anticipation of using it as a woods gun because it can be loaded with .45acp, .45Auto-Rim, and my favorite handgun caliber... 45Super with no modification at all. This has been confirmed by both Smith and Wesson as well as Tim Sundles, the owner/manufacturer of Buffalo Bore ammunition. I just posted pics of mine in the "Revolver" section here and am awaiting friends to go to the range today... later to put up a full report after running .45acp and the .45Super. I looked for a 625-3 for a long time but couldn't find one as the are harder to come by. So I decided I couldn't wait anymore and picked up the 625-8 version. I think it just may become my favorite revolver and possibly my favorite handgun in short order if it's anything like what other's in the know have told me. Post pics!

What's the difference between a 625-3 and my 625-2?  Sorry, I don't know.  Maybe, it's just that yours is marked Model of 1989, while mine is marked Model of 1988 w/a 5" bbl?
