Okay,

I have a S&W M&P 40 with a TRL-1 attached.  I am looking for a holster to use with a battle belt.  I want to position the holster just below the belt........not a full drop let but sort of like a halfway drop.....if that makes sense.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which holster and belt mount I can use?

I am open to some suggestion and advice.

Thanks

If you can mount it to the inner belt, then take a look at the Safariland 7TS: http://www.holsterops.com/cutdown-7ts-paddle-light

The UBL mid-ride will drop the holster just below the belt: http://www.holsterops.com/ubl

I run my M&P9/TLR-1 on an HSGI Suregrip belt with the above combo and have been very happy. Prior to the release of the light bearing 7TS holster for the M&P, I was running the standard (non-light bearing) 7TS holster for well over a year. The nice thing is that you can also run a compact M&P in the same holster. Good retention, fast draw, and durable.

I tried to post a pic of the my setup, but Photobucket is sucking a bag of dicks right now. I'll try again later if I remember.

First off, Thanks for posting some advice.
Secondly I do really like your suggestion for sure.  However, I am not sure that I would want the "Cut down Version" that is offered on the link.
Would love to find this set up with the regular unmodified version.
Trying to search for this holster is proving to be very difficult for me...........wow.

I put a Safariland ALS holster into a SKD/HSGI leg holster.  The SKD version is important, because it does not have a quick release off the belt loop, so you can ride it as high as you like.

Holster-Ops is the only place I have only seen a light-bearing M&P in the 7TS material, and only in the cut down version. I actually prefer it, especially if I'm using it with a paddle, because the gun clears the hoster better/faster. There are lots of other Safariland holsters that will work, but they are suede lined. The 7TS is  sci-fi movie prop ugly, but the material and design are pretty  slick.
Here is a pic of my setup.

I can't find my uncut holster for a comparison shot, but there should be a few pics floating around the interwebz.

Well, I want to Thank you again for posting and taking time to give me advice.
I have ordered both the hostler and the UBL mid ride...........so when it gets here.........I will post a picture of how it fits on my belt and post one back.

I am also going to consider the SKD HSGI drop leg as well............but will try just the UBL first and see.

Thanks to both of you!
