Box it up and send it to Karl Sokol at Chestnut Mountain Sports

Have him plug the lock, chamfer the charging holes, trigger job and put an orange insert in the front sight.

You will be happy.... Ask me how I know.

So, how much did you get it for?

Love my J Frame.

I suggest buying the Cylinder chamfering tool if you ever plan on doing more than one gun. Everywhere I looked wanted $40ish and shipping to and from, that is half the price of the tool. Its easy to do, just about any "Bubba" gunsmith can do a fine job. Plus you get the another tool in the tool box.

I put the Apex kit for mine. Really brought the trigger weight down. I lubed the guts of mine, then dry fired the snot out of it. Amazed at what a difference it made to feel of the trigger pull.

Seriously, OP. You left out some pretty juicy details there.

I love the idea of a j frame in the back pocket or on an ankle holster or in the glove box; then I actually shoot one.

I was at a pawn shop a couple years back. Someone was trying to sell his 642-2 for $300. The pawn shop was offering $200. I waited outside. When the seller came out, i told him, "i'll give you $300." Best deal i've got in years. The pawn shop guy was pissed. LOL.

Great gun. I have a PPS, but the 642 has become my only carry. I love this gun.

All i've done, was put in the APEX springs. 12# to 8#. Much better trigger weight.

The dealers at gunshows hate me. If I overhear them really lowballing someone on something I like I will tell the owner that if they do not take the dealers offer I will be right down the aisle, come talk to me. A couple of dealers have really gotten in my face. I laugh at them and walk off.

When I cant carry a gun or just cant decide which one I want out of the safe my M&P 340 always gets the nod.  J-Frames are great little all around guns.
