Not a big fan of snubnose revolvers but that's one I'd own in a heartbeat. Combined with those grips it's a sweetheart! |

Just picked this up. Seems to be a 1954/55 made pre-model 28 Highway Patrolman.

To find out which grips would have been original, a question posed in the pre 1960 forum will get a quick answer. And if you keep an eye on their accessories classifieds you will eventually find a set of originals for sale. I’ll look in my copy of Standard Catalog of S&W 4th edition. A serial number would help narrow my search down. |

Those grips were made by Bianchi. They are solid and they are heavy! As for being an inexpensive way to shroud a hammer, last I checked, people were paying good money for those grips on the used market as they have been discontinued. But yes, still far cheaper than that beautiful Colt with the factory shroud. @JPK |

While looking for an oversized cylinder stop for a new to me police trade in M65 I found a set, or a similar set at Numrich. No brand mentioned and $35, so I ordered them along with the cylinder stop. |
