I'm wanting the new px4 EL compact. Or at least I was until my buddy told me I don't want a "race type" gun as a carry piece. Plus, no telling when Italy will get it together and provide us with this gem so after all my research(all 75 pages of the thread on p-f)I'm thinking maybe a standard compact will suffice, with some subtle improvements.

There is a 40 compact w/NS on BF so I'm wondering if I could buy a barrel and swap like I've done with a glock, or am I asking for problems?
Also, has anyone handled(at the range)a px4 in 40, at the range?

The cheap bastard in me screams to work a deal for the almost new one on BF but life would be so much simpler to keep it all in one caliber.
