I understand the front sight on the Beretta 92 Compact with rail is machined into the slide.....is there a way to repair it should it become damaged?  Has this been an issue for anyone that's owned one?  Would I have to buy a whole new slide?  Apologies for the newb question!

In what way is it damaged? Or is this just a hypothetical concern?

If it is horrendously damaged you'd have to replace the slide, but I have never heard of the front sight on a 92 breaking. I'm sure it happens but you'd need to really abuse it. If it became an issue, a new 92 compact slide, or even a standard 92 slide, is an easy swap.
