Thinking hard about picking up an M9 early next year. Would also most likely become my first suppressor host. What barrel/suppressor combo is everyone using? Recommendations? Brands to stay away from?

The stock barrel can be threaded.

Stock barrel is easy to thread.

BTDT.

Suppresses very well.

Had Jim Pixley of JP Machining do mine. Excellent in every way.

That threaded factory barrel/thread protector is slick. Did not know about that.

Any suggested/preferred suppressor type or will most any 9mm suppressor do the job?

Depending. You decide which threads to have the barrel cut, 1/2 x 28 or 13.5 x 1 LH are common thread patterns for 9MM. There was a bad ass setup for the M9 where the barrel had a recess and the suppressor went on it.

I have an Osprey 9 in BATFE Jail right now and my 92FS will be one of the hosts.

I'm debating getting the existing barrel threaded vs. buying a new one.

Bought a factory threaded barrel for mine, and am waiting on my Tirant9 stamp. I hope this combo will work; I am assuming it will. Sounds like I should be OK and might need a reduced power recoil spring with 147 GN subs, yes?

Looking at the Octane 9. Would need the 1/2×28 EXTENDED (BERETTA) threading I assume?

I believe so. You might inquire at silencer shop on this.

I don't know what happe ns if you dont; maybe it becomes a single shot? That's what happened on my g21, indicating I needed a fresh recoil spring.

what made you buy a new barrel (for how much money) vs getting the OEM threaded?

1 I wanted to be able to go back to "stock" if I wanted.
2 didn't want to take a chance on mailing off stock barrel
3  $189.00 for a factory threaded barrel form TT

What spring weight did you go with? Did you get the beretta special piston?
Interested since I have to purchase a new slide stop for my elite slide and will amortize the shipping from Brownells.

I suppressed my wifes 92 Vertec, its fantastic.

If using an Osprey you'll need the extended 1/2-28 piston. Guide rod hits the can on my 45 osprey.

But I also have a Gemtech Multimount that it gets ran with.

Barrel was purchased from Tornado Tech a few years ago.

Not brad but I know they (TT) became very popular and wait times turned very long, like many months or years. Don't know how they are now.

I'm planning on getting one of the M9A3s when they come out for my suppressor.
