My 9 mm Carry has been very reliable with factory and mostly reloads (124 and 147 gr coated, 1140 and 945 fps respectively) until about the 1000 round mark.  Then I would get a stove pipe (most times) or failure to extract (rarely).  Pistol now has 3000 rounds through it and it happened 3 times in 160 rounds yesterday.

August 2016 born on date.

I have read about the extractor issue and the slight changes SIG made.  It is going back to get checked out.

The SIG  P226 and Browning HP eat those reloads up.

The P226, P35, and 92fs are the most reliable handguns period.

Someday they'll make 'em that good again.

Having similar issues, but a few less rounds in to my 320.  About the same make date as yours.

What made you opt to send it back vs trying a new extractor and spring first?

I had the same issue with mine.  Purchased mine when they were first released and when it first hit the stores.  It had failures about every mag especially with lighter grain ammo.  I first tried to replace the extractor when that didn't work I replaced the spring and cup or what ever they called that plastic piece that contacts the extractor.  I was very pleased when that solved it and it's been 100% since.  It did take me a while to trust it for carry and night stand duty but it is in the trust zone now.

I think I will order another spring to have on hand just in case the failures ever return.  Maybe when I hit 5k rounds I will replace it with the RSA.

I decided to let SIG fix it.

Took the P320 out to a USPSA match today with PMC 124 gr ball, 98 rounds with one stovepipe.

Will run it with PMC and Federal when I get it back.

SIG returned the pistol in record time, one week.

They replaced the extractor and extractor spring pin.  SIG test fired with 50 rounds of Aguila 124 gr FMJ.

I will test it tomorrow with PMC, some Federal, and PPU 115 gr NATO.

Perhaps it was your reloads that were the problem.  Just curious, what were the changes that Sig made to the extractor?  I'm not familiar with two gens of P320 extractors.

Its possible the reloads might be responsible.  They duplicate factory velocity and OAL.   They work in two P226, a Browning HP, and a Glock.

Nothing mentioned in the return letter about which revision of extractor.

Practice match called because of thunderstorms.

57 rounds of PMC 124 gr FMJ and PPU 115 gr FMJ .

Ran fine.

Will update with further round counts.

I've never heard of an extractor updated. Sometime in 2015-2016 Sig made the extractor spring guide about a mm longer to push more tension on the extractor spring. David

All I know is the service order says they replaced the extractor and extractor spring pin.

Have you cleaned it yet?  I have 500 through mine and haven't cleaned it yet.

No stovepipes or jams. I use Magnalube G on the slide contact points and the barrel. I did re-lube it once.

Cleaning and oiling that part may be a good thing too.   Hose it down with cleaner and air.  Check under magnification for burrs.

Magnification is good.  Sometimes we forget our eyesight sucks.

78 rounds of PMC 124 gr and Prvi Partizan 115 gr FMJ.  No malfunctions.

Generally clean every 200 rounds or so.  Use TW 25 grease on the rails.
