I love my Sigs
229 in .40, 220 10mm, and a 238 .380
I HAD a W. German 220 in .38 Super (don't worry, I was adequately compensated for it on the sale
) --- after shooting 1911's for years, I figured id shoot the 38 as a novelty, -- got it in a trade bundle. Holy cow --- the grip frame fit me, -- 1911's slightly small, Glocks slightly big, but this one was perfect !
When I was offered $1400 for it, I kicked it down the trail -- .38 Super is a fine caliber and a collectible to boot, but I had no need for it ---- Used the proceeds to procure a 229 .40 and several cases of ammo with money left over
I did not have the same love for the double stack 229 , but it is a great shooter
The one thing I don't like is lack of magazine compatibility amongst the models , ----- I was interested in adding a couple of Sig Pro's (2022) to possibly replace my Glocks, but mags are not compatible with the 226 or 229
I will likely add a few more Sigs to the stable, but that facet has always bugged me a little --------- namely having to keep mags segregated that look almost alike
My 1911's are all gone now -- its just Glocks and Sigs, but as said if the mag issue didn't bug me so much, the Glocks would head down the road as well
