Hi, I just bought this West German P220 in 9mm yesterday and am having a hard time locating mags for it. It is a P220 so it's a single stack and it also has the American style mag release not the older European heel release. Does anyone know where I might be able to locate a couple of mags for it? Thanks

Euro P220 magazines in 9MM and .38 Super aren't too tough to find. American style magazines in those calibers are significantly less common.

If you can't find any American style, you can have Euro magazines milled to use the American style magazine release.

Good luck my friend... I do not think I have ever seen any other than euro style for a 9mm P220.

Thank You for your help and comments fellas. I have found some new in wrapper on gunbroker for 100.00 each! I guess I am going to buy 3 so that will give me 4 and should add to the value of the Pistol. This is my second P220 9mm the first one was a Browning BDA that had the European mag release.
I have had a bunch of P220's in 45 several of those were Browning BDA's I currently have this W. German P220 in 9mm and a W. German P226 and
2 W. German P228's as you can see I have a love affair with W. German Sigs:)

W. German SIGs are definitely awesome! I would just buy heel-release mags and have them milled if I were you. Sure, more mags will add value to the package, but they won't be adding $100 per mag of value!

European mags are 50.00 each plus having to pay someone to mill the cuts and do it right, not a BUBBA job. So that would probably cost 20.00 per mag to have them done right plus shipping 2 ways. I think it would be better to spend the 100.00 per mag and get the right ones to begin with. Also I didn't say it would add 100.00 per mag to the value. I just said it should add to the value having 4 mags that are as rare as the Pistol. It is my understanding that only about 1000 were made in 9mm with the American mag release so that makes the Pistol more than just a W. German Sig. It's a rare W. German Sig.

Well after mulling it around a bit, I broke down and ordered 3 new in the wrapper P220 9mm mags at 100.00 a pop! My butt hurts now lol. But it's a done deal and that will give me a total of 4 mags for it. Maybe I will get lucky and stumble on some more at some point at a better price. Thank You for everyone's input and help.

Yeah, I cannot fault your logic. I would mill them myself, so I wouldn't have to pay someone, but you're right.
Here's another heel-release gun, if you'd rather use the cheaper mags in it: http://www.gunbroker.com/item/603654637

Great find. I have a 1985 P220 in 45 ACP and shoot it often.

Thank You for the link. That's what I have in mine which was a trade deal. There are a couple of more on there for a lot more money though. I think my next one is going to be a W. German P220 in 45acp I have owned a bunch of them and traded my last one a year ago. Now I am on a W. German Sig kick and am trying to get one of each. I need a W. German P225 & P220 45 and I am done, I have a W. German P226 and 2 P228's and now the P220 in 9mm I have owned a few of the newer Sigs. Including 2 MK25's and I personally prefer the original W. German made Sigs. I believe Crowboy will maybe agree with that?
