I am seriously considering the P220 Carry SAS for my next handgun acquisition.  I'm a .45acp fan and looking for a new Sig daily carry gun, and I'm tempted to get the P220 SAS over the P227 SAS.  I'm looking for feedback from those who have experience with this model.

That is a tough choice right there.  The SAS is sweet.  Don't have 227 experience other than holding but I like it too.

Both are excellent.  The 227 has a more rounds which I prefer and went that route.  The real difference is in the size of the grip. If you can go to you lgs and hold both, you'll quickly determine which is best for you.  Really kinda depends on your hand size, small/medium you likely will prefer th 220.

both.
Keep in mind good concealment is usually a result of smaller grip size

As somebody else said, go to your local store and try them both. I never bought a SIG 45 because I just did not like how the P220 felt in my hand. I have a P227 SAS.

I'm partial to the 220 SAS. I like the grip better. The 227 will be a good choice when it's finally out in 10mm. Till then... 220 is the way to go.

I have a full size P227 already and have no issue with the grip, but I find the P220 intriguing for daily carry and the SAS model looked very appealing.  I got a chance to swing by a LGS this evening and handled a P220.  It fit my hand very well...almost like a 1911.  I was afraid it would be a little awkward since I had read that it's slightly larger than a 1911 from the trigger guard to the backstrap.  Based on my experience at the LGS I think I am going to go ahead and pull the proverbial trigger and buy a P220 SAS Carry Gen 2.

I have the P227 Carry SAS and the P220 Compact SAS Gen 2. I prefer the Compact SAS over the P227 Carry SAS for everyday concealed carry. The grip length on the Compact is better for me for concealed carry and is just more comfortable to me. I can also put in extended mags if I desire the couple extra rounds that a Carry P220 would have.

If you're in Tucson hit me with an IM. I have a 220 SAO Carry that I'd be happy to let you try. Probably be selling it soon, it's my last .45 and has become a safe queen.

stainless frame or aluminum frame?

It's a gen 1 so aluminum I guess. Also had the ambi (right side) safety milled off and then coated the whole thing CCR house black. The safety was easy to snick off if I bumped into anything. Being a righty it was fine with me.

I was looking at the same two SIGs some time ago and ended up with the P220 Carry SAS.  While I would have liked the capacity of the P227, the P220 Carry felt much more balanced and "pointable" to me.  I've been more than happy with the decision.  It is a great shooter, has an very good DA trigger, and the SRT set-up is excellent.  I'm a dedicated 1911 guy, but this SIG gives them some serious competition.

Thanks. It's the nicest single action non 1911 I ever owned. And the Siglites are still bright! It's a shame I'm getting too old to sling a .45 around. I keep hoping my boy will want it but it's at 25 years old if he's not into shooting it's probably not  gonna happen. In the meantime she sits in the safe pretty.

Had a p227 SAS for a few months, tried to love it. Great shooter, but it felt huge in my belt. Ended up dealing it off for another full sized 220.
