I have the urge for a ccw subcompact.  I don't have a ccw, but I'm considering getting one.   My handguns now consist of full size guns (1911, p226, p227) I'm set up to load 9mm and 45acp so I'm not particularly interested in .380 or .40.  I looked at a p290rs locally and I kind of like it, but the p320 seems interesting, though it must be larger as it is a 12 capacity magazine.  There isn't one in town I know of to go look at, so I'd have to order one in.

Any thoughts on the p320 vs the p290?   I looked at a p938, Its a beautiful little gun, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable carrying in cond 1.  I think I prefer the idea of dao for a pocket gun.

The grip was way too short for me. This is coming from a guy that CCs an M&P Shield.

I bit the bullet, so to speak, and ordered a P320 SC 9mm.  Should be here in a week.

Awesome, let us know how you like it. I may just get a compact kit and add a SC grip module

Thats exactly what I did. Shoots great and conceals well. Pretty versatile little gun.

It's here and it's sweet.  Hoping to sneak out of the house for a couple hours and try it out.

Not a lot to report.  I ran 8 or 10  12 round magazines through the P320SC.  No failures of any kind.  I loaded both magazines full (12 rounds) and shot them until empty.  No failures to lock back, no trigger slap, no failures to feed, no incomplete ejections.

For me it seems to pattern a touch high, as in a couple of inches @21 ft.

I actually shot slightly better groups with this than my P226 (full size basic nitron model).

As a side note - I am a horrible shot with a pistol - think 40 yd patterns with a shotgun

But at 7 yds I could easily cover a 12 shot group with my hand.   Hard to say if this is my incompetence with a handgun, or my reloads.

The ammunition was mixed brass, CCI SPP, 7.1 gr Blue Dot, 115 gr plated RN, 1.130 OAL.     I have seen fairly significant variations in velocity using Blue Dot previously  (like +/- 100fps) even though the drops seem to be consistently +/- 0.1 gr.

It's a little weird having my tea finger hanging in space with nothing to do.

I did like the trigger.  It was noticeably less pull than the P226 in DA.  I felt no glitches or hesitations.

Compared to full size P226

Nice size

Slide removed.  No tools - just turn the key and the slide comes off.

Trigger group removed.  The slide key pulls out of the frame which releases the trigger group.

Thanks for the pictures. I'll have to shoot one of these.

Ordered a 320 compact today.  Glad to hear yours does not suffer from the dreaded trigger slap.

I have a Carry model and bought a subcompact grip and mag.  It allows me to grow upward as the slide is very easy to conceal.
