Recently picked up my first Sig. It's a new P226 MK25. I traded it straight up for my used H&K P30. I liked the way the P30 felt just didn't like the long/light trigger pull of the Light LEM. Put the MK25 in my hands and instantly fell in love. Took it out to shoot today and was extremely impressed with how well it shot and how it felt in my hands. I'm very pleased with this pistol and it will be my bedside/home defense pistol. The only down side I can see is that that mags that came with it feel like they were spray painted black. My buddy has a 226 and his mags were very smooth. Mine feel almost tacky, although they drop free and feed without any problems. I know everyone recommends the Mec-Gar mags. The question I have is if anyone has pictures of a MK25 with the 15, 18 and 20 round Mec-Gar's inserted? It would be greatly appreciated. My humble contribution....

Love my MK25.  My 226 in 40/357 Sig is slowly moving it's way to the safe while the MK25 pulls duty at the bedside.

I've been a Glock guy for awhile. First because it was what I could afford, now because of work. If I could switch to the Sig I would. Everything about it is better, just can't believe it took me this long to get one. Thanks for the 20 round pic. It doesn't look too bad. Does anyone have a pic of the 18 rounders?

For some reason they weren't showing up yesterday. I see them now though, Thanks! Think some 18 rounders are in order for this bad boy.

I think the P30 is a great pistol, but a used P30 straight up for a new MK25 was a solid trade for sure.

The 15 round mags that come with it are just like that. Buy a bunch of 18 and 20 round MecGars and have fun. The 20 rounders make for quick reloads.

I'm mostly a Glock guy, but the p226 is probably my favorite gun.

I ended up purchasing five of the Mec-Gar 18 rounders. They are very nice and have a base pad that is comparable to Glock mags which I like a lot. I ended up cleaning up the original mags and they are good to go now. They must of had some sort of cosmoline on them.

Great purchase. I also started my Sig collection with MK25 with MecGar 8-18 round Magazines. I am still a 1911 and Glock guy, now Sig Sauer.

I put the quick reset trigger in my MK25.

Nice, relatively inexpensive upgrade for an already amazing platform.

Is there a narrower, thinner grip available for the MK25 frame ?

The mk25 will fit the e2 grip, or you can order aftermarket grips. There are some vogue wood grips made for them that are pretty thin.

Just got my first Sig, too, and it's a MK25 as well. Mine has the threaded barrel and will host an AACTirant 9 when the stamp comes in.

I also went with the MecGar 18 mags as well. I cleaned and lubed it, then put over 100 rounds thru it without a hiccup. Bought some IMI Ex-Star ammo to carry, and a thousand Hornady 147 FMJ ENC bullets to load for subsonic plinking.

I am on the lookout for an SRT kit, but they are oos everywhere I've looked (not paying $100 for one on evilBay).

I went through gunbroker and found a SRT kit for around $50. Had it delivered within a few days. The SRT kit is day and night over the original configuration.
