Little surprised to see this. Yes, fairly new model. Here in Indiana our state police force have just transitioned from a G22 to the Sig 227

They were more than likely T&E/Demo guns. Not LE trade ins.

Just picked up a 227 today.   Been wanting one since they first came out.   Found one at Cabelas for $650.  Like new condition.  
Plus they had a $30 off the price so $620.   And it came with 4 mags. and sig case and manual.    Very pleased with my find.   The only one they had.
Bet it didn't have more than 10 rnds through it.
