a LGS has a P227 Tactical: threaded barrel, raised night sights and 14 round magazine.  Asking $1050.

I was thinking about it as a host for my 45 Octane.

Never owned a SIG, but always believed they where good guns.

Should I FO?

That would make the first reported Sig P227 Tac in the wild.

The P227R is solid, I have yet to hear of any widespread issues.  I have one and it runs as it should.  I'd get it.

Question, were the 14-round mags Mec-Gar or stamped "Made in the USA?"

Well I went back to take another 'feel'.

No 14 round magazine, just two tens.  No magazine capacity limits here...???  Case didn't even look like it had a cutout for the 14, but it didn't dig too much into it?

I saw from a vendor a pre order for a tacops 227. I would have ordered if it had a threaded barrel. It had the extended base pads for the 14 rounders and had the extended maxwell grips.

May not be on their website, but they have been out for at least a month...here's an example.

That looks like it will fit both my P227s without any extended basepad or grips.

They are stamped "Sig Sauer" and I have had good luck with Top Gun, so I ordered a couple.

My Sig threaded .45 ACP barrel is standard right hand thread.  .578x28TPI.

Same thing Rockwell shows for these.

The 14 round mags I just got were stamped "made in Italy" but in Sig packaging.

Doesn't Mec-Gar make some, if not all, of their OEM mags?

My 10 round mags for the P227 also say "made in Italy".

None of my Sig factory mags say "made in USA" on them...............P2022, P226, P220, P227, P228.

Checkmate makes some of the new P226 mags for Sig. I prefer the Mec-Gar mags. Glad to hear that is who is making the P227 mags. Now if Sig will just hurry up and produce one in all stainless.....

I gave in and bought a NIB tactical from EE last week. Smokin deal $800 shipped.
I will be putting the tacops grips on it though.
