These guns look like great deals! I recently bought a factory refinished/rebuilt by Sig for a bit more than what you guys are paying, or I'd hop right on this.

Got mine on Thursday. Not nearly as bad as some apparently. Shown holster wear, etc but shoots great:

With my NIB P228 (upper right) and another I have carried for over 10 years. The one that just came is in the middle.

Yeah, I would love to find a newer one in better shape, but for $450 or so, I can't complain.

My wife just picked hers up. I cleaned it up while working on my 226 and it's about the same with a little less muzzle wear. She's quite happy with it- range time coming wednesday...

The Siglite night sight deal deal is gone from Slickdeals, but not dead.  Slickdeals deleted it because the Ebay ad was from an individual seller and not a powerseller or a daily deal or something along those lines (I posted it there and they deleted my post with that explanation).  I just checked Ebay and the seller still has them for sale. Here is a link to my post in this forum that has the Sig night sight deal (don't want to look like i'm double posting):

Correct - For folks with different calibers who are wondering which sights to buy for their Sig pistol:

Front/Rear sight size:

# 6 and # 8 =  .40 and .45
# 8 and # 8 = 9mm and .357Sig

Took a few quick pics of the last of the batch they had.  I tried to order two, but they only had the one left.

Definitely some holster wear, but no nicks or dings, just finish wear.  Slightly buggered grip screw slots, but I've seen a lot worse.  My buddy is set up with a blast cabinet and cerakoting, so maybe she'll get a refinish.  2002 date of manufacture, slide made in Germany, but no proofs and serial only on frame, so must've been assembled in Exeter.  Came with 3 mags, 2 German dovetail 13 rounders and 1 Mec-Gar 13 rounder.  All definitely used; I can even see the circle where the snap from the duty gear rested.  Barrel has pretty good smileys, so they were definitely qualifying and practicing.  Rifling was sharp and crown was great.  Trigger smooth as any of my other SIGs.  Very little wear on the rails.  Recoil spring didn't have any center strand poking out.  Night sights were very weak though.

Anyway, the pix:

All in all, I'm satisfied with what it is for the $435.  I was planning on shooting it Saturday, but we had torrential rains Friday night so I'm sure the bays were just mud.  I'm sure she'll be just fine.

So that goes for 229, 220, etc? Need 2 sets for .40 and .45.

Several years ago I picked up a police trade-in P228 from Robertson's Trading Post. They had a bunch and they were from various police departments in Switzerland. Mine has Zurich marking's. Most looked in decent shape and the one I purchased had the slide refinished. It's a very nice shooter and carry piece. These from Cole's look good. It seems Cole's always has interesting used pistols at very fair prices.

Guys,

You all have some very nice P228s! My P228 on the other hand is in mint condition but of course I paid a premium for it.

I would gladly take a worn P228 for < $500. That is a smoking deal and these guns will only go up in value. There is NOTHING like a stamped-slide P228.

I had a couple cop tradeins and they were great.  Both 226's; one a 9mm and the other a .357.

Used them hard under all sorts of conditions and shot a lot of varmints and stockchasing dogs with them.

Found some pic's with the old guns in them.

Doing a little sight work at the range;

This place is getting me into too much trouble!!
Picked this up yesterday at my LGS from my first gunbroker buy.
cdisales made it too easy.  Overall I am very happy with the condition.
Will see how she shoots in a week or two.

AH! I see that CDISALES still has them @ $419 on gunbroker. The REAL question is which do I want?..the 2022 or the 228? Can get the 2022 NEW for the "well used" price of the 228...

If that's a 1993 someone has at least changed/updated the takedown lever.  Nothing necessarily wrong with that, it would just make me look to make sure any replacements were done right, not bubba'd.
