I hate the finger grooves and removing them necessitates grip stippling. It isn't something I have the patience for. I have had work by various people and recently got back a gun from Polymer Refined. Clearly the best stippling I have ever seen in person. I found them too late though. Just got it back and their shipping situation has changed FFL to FFL only now and some kind of California crap. Talked to my FFL this morning and he doesn't want to deal with all that crap unfortunately. So I am looking at other options.
Who is your favorite? |

When did they change their shipping?
I have a G19 there now. Eta: Just checked their site. It does now say ffl to ffl. Didn't last week. |

NAF solutions has done good work for me previously, with reasonable prices, and turn around times.
I also recently got a Boresight Solutions Duty frame, and have to say it is exceptional. Ben sets the standard for plastic surgery, and his apprentices are turning out excellent work as well. |

I only stipple the front after I take off finger groves but if I ever get the whole frame done it'll be sent to him. |

I've used Lane at Cold Bore with great results but I don't know if he's in business any longer. Anyone here know?

Guess I will find out. I want more work done. He didn't get mine until last Wednesday because of a shipping delay. He had it done Saturday. And he is about half the cost of a lot I have seen. I had my ffl ship it for me anyway. Cost me $12. I just found a message my ffl left me this morning that my frame was in. He got it last Wednesday, it was back on Monday. |

When i used to work for an ffl we'd ship to CA all the time. Wasnt that big of a deal, but a lot of places around here don't want to do it. Plus we have a goofy tax law on incoming transfers that some dealers interpret wrong, wanting to charge you use tax on the value of the gun when it comes in.

Interested in seeing suggestions in this thread. Polymer refined is looking very sharp. I was also considering Performance Industries, however I wish they provided more pictures of their work. There's a whopping 6-8 photos total in the gallery.
FWIW, I have an Agency built 19 which I love. However, as much as I like their work, $400 for only frame work is far too much for what I want, and throw in the turnaround time too. |

View Quote Wow, I balked at Boresight's new pricing, but this takes it. I'm sure they do good work, and if they're getting the business they need then good on them. But I'll be looking at companies that charge nearly half that. YMMV. |

I remember when it was around $125-$150 for full stipple job. Looked on Saturday about sending a new Glock 17; NOPE I don't wan't all the relieving and undercutting, just a stipple job. When prices are this high, I'll go elsewhere. Sucks, his work is top notch too. |

Best I've seen is the guy who does it with a laser etching machine. Can't think of the name right now. Srry

Everyone that's had work done by Polymer Redefined, it looks like you all chose the "puzzle matrix" texture, is that right? On their site that one's listed as the most aggressive, how does it feel carrying IWB? Anyone try any of their other textures?
And what other options/instructions did you give with the work? It looks like they will do some additional work included in the grip stipple price, but not sure all the options. Thanks |

OK. My frame got to my FFL yesterday. I didn't find out until late last night, picked it up this morning. One word------ A M A Z I N G!!! I will do a full review once my slide comes back from Jagerwerks and have a little trigger time, but this thing is incredible. I have never had a Glock in my hand that felt good. Granted this is the first time I have had anything professionally done to one. I had everything done that Polymer Refined can do to a G19 except cut the grip to G26 size. If you send one to him, the Infinity ledge is awesome. I was on the fence about it. So glad I did. For reference I paid $230 complete with return shipping. He received my frame on Tuesday and had to of mailed it back out Friday (that's 4 days) because it was at my FFL on Monday. Pretty damn good for California to Tennessee. I will post some pictures in a second. They are cell pictures I took in my car when I was leaving my FFL. Yes, I was that excited. My FFL and everybody in the shop was highly impressed also. View Quote That looks incredible. Does the grip feel smaller & thinner? I love my G19 except for the fat feeling grip. I'd like the circumference reduced and for it to have a thinner feel to it. Is there a mag well added or is that just the way he profiles the butt of the grip? |

Danger Close Armament. I personally don't own any stippled firearms, nor am I usually impressed, but this guy is good. TX based. Used to be based out of Colorado.

It's pretty aggressive. But you can knock it down with sandpaper lightly if you like. I know someone else who had theirs done by polymer refined that had them knocked the sides down slightly but leave the front and back more aggressive. He carries it daily iwb. I haven't been able to try mine, and can't until my slide gets back. I had Infinity Ledge Flats, double undercut, and mag release added to mine. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d155/twpayne75/pistol/20160721_190726_zpsvodt2t93.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I love the work of Polymer Refined and I've been emailing back & forth with Kent. But I'm having a hell of a time finding a local FFL that's willing to ship to his FFL in CA. Really frustrating.

The biggest reason ive got is the CA laws and having to go to the CDOJ website and enter their info for that form letter to accompany the weapon. Additionally, with all the added fees, id end up paying the same or more as a couple of places ive found that will accept and mail back directly to the owner, with a copy of a valid ID. I really like Kents work but if i cant get the frame to him, what use is it? |

I was going to use Polymer Refined but with the new requirement to xfer ffl to ffl I'm out. Unfortunately my state collects tax on incoming transfers and regardless of how the law is written, finding a dealer that will 'be nice' about it is hard, and having to pay a xfer fee twice is not appealing.

View Quote I sent mine to Kent ffl to ffl before the requirements took affect because it was actually cheaper that way. An ffl can ship USPS Priority Mail, which mine did. Don't know about your states requirements, but mine (Tennessee) my ffl logged it into his book as a repair. Then technically I guess it was his property. He shipped and recieved it back from Kent. He then logged it back out of his repair log to me. With shipping and insurance, I think it cost me about $10. I don't know how much trouble the actual Communifornia requirement causes. Guess I will find out because as soon as I find a G34, it and an M&P are going back to Kent. I get the feeling the ffl's you guys are contacting don't want to bother with the five minutes it takes to fill a form out. |
