Who says you can't find gems from Cabelas.....

This sucker looks to have been sitting in some guys closet for years, it's still full of all of the old parts, non captured RSA, black trigger, short ejector etc.

I sent an email to Glock to see about getting the non-recall upgraded parts, I don't want to relinquish the old ones if I can help it....

Well, that's the cool thing about Cabelas. You can search their entire "gun library" online. See the one you want, send it to your local store. You like, you buy. Most are overpriced, but sometimes...

Very nice, and I think you got a great deal on it. An armorer can get the upgrade parts from Glock. This is what I did and kept the originals.

Very nice find!  Please state WHAT MATERIAL the non-captured RSA guide rod is made of, metal or plastic?  Thanks!

Not a problem. Trying to get Glock to send me the upgraded parts now.... Is there a contact over there that armorers use?

ETA: Parts on the way!

$350 is a good deal.  I got my G17.2 for 399 in about the same condition with no box 2 mags.

I think that's a great find and great price. I almost never find stuff like that. I think that's as close to "collectable" as a Glock can get and would be very tempted to leave it as is and get another G19 for shooting?

Yeah, I didn't put the upgraded parts in mine. I just got them to have them.

Therein lies my dilemma, honestly I wasn't expecting this sucker to be as old as it was, now I'm second guessing myself as to turning it into a suppressor host. If they would have had a used G19 3rd gen I probably wouldn't have even looked at this one. Gaaa! I don't need another 19, do I?

Why not get a factory threaded G19 if you want a suppressor host? It even comes with suppressor sights.

That is a nice find. I just picked up this July '88 Gen2 G19, with new Trijicons and a pair of Gen4 mags. It looks like new, and still has all the old internals. If you don't mind, IM me who you contacted at Glock for the parts. I'd like to do the upgrade, but I also want to keep the originals.

I got a gen 2 a while back, I didn't know about glock replacing parts on those older ones. I may have to contact the company to see what I can score. I know the sights need replaced for sure as they don't glow anymore

Well, I just bought the factory barrel for 200+, and these are going for like $650.00 new around here. I guess I  kinda jumped the gun on the barrel.

Oh well, I'll finger it out.

I think I'll just use the Vickers 19 as the host now, found a pair of suppressor sights on Amazon for $66.00.

I just called the main number and asked for tech support.

FYI, they won't send you the parts unless you are a Glock armorer, but they will put them on the gun for free if you ship it to them. (They might take the old parts and keep them though.) Find an armorer close to you and I'm sure you can work something out.

Thanks for that tidbit of info, I will ask around local to see if I can find someone who is an armorer. What all parts do they replace or send out to replace? Springs and all that?

Yeah I thought that was the case, thanks for confirming. I'm planning on taking their armorer course here shortly, maybe I'll just take it with me.

One I went to didn't allow 'personal' weapons in the class.

As far as the parts go, if you can go to a GSSF outdoor match the armorer there can do the change. That's what  I done and they gave me the old parts back also.

$350 is a very good deal for a used Gen2 9mm. Its only "too much" for used Gen3 guns and .40s, those are $299 guns.
