Bought it at a local gun show, looking to get some more information on it if anyone could help me out. It is brand new, never shot! I don't think Detroit used the model 23, just 22. Anyone know what year this was made? Value, rarity, collector item?1? I E-mailed Detroit Pawn (Hardcore pawn tv show) to see if they would be interested in purchasing. Any help would be nice, Thanks again for y'alls 2 cents! McE

Zander's had a ton of Detroit PD pistols and M1 carbines a couple of years ago.  I think that is also where they got all the used Beretta 1201 shotguns from.  They had issued and new in the box Glocks.  Someone by chance ended up with 00001 and decided to claim it was very very rare.

Very cool. I personally wouldn't get too crazy spending on it, but who knows. Good luck

That sucks it's only the upper.   I wonder if the frames were serialized as normal or the same...  and why they were separated.   I hope the frame wasn't destroyed.

DPD used G22 for uniform.  Some of the Detectives carried the marked G23's.  They switched to M&P's a while back.  They carried Glock's since the Gen 2's approximately.

FYI my LGS has a G23 in VG condition with DPD markings on it for $425 and a G22 for the same.

So they must have used G23's at some point.

BTW, is 425 a good price?

DPD0001 model 22 belonged to Coleman Young.

It was sold at auction here a couple of years ago at DuMichelles.

Cool piece. I have always wanted a DPD marked G27.

Not sure if they ever made the frame, but on the flip side, why wouldn't they? Im going to call glock tomorrow and see. Still haven't found out what year it was made tho.

I wonder if 23s were approved for off-duty carry or as a BUG to the 22.

Most agencies around here approve the 22 for carry and 23/27 for off duty.

Cool slide.  I've seen a few DPD's around here too.

Sure did, doesn't help me. It was a old for sale add for a G22 3 years ago. Thanks anyway though.
