If you have a Glock and haven't tried one you're missing out. Great holster. The only cheap holster that's actually worth a shit. Durable and retains as good as a fitted Kydex holster. Conceals very well.

Comfort and ease of access, I don't believe that whole "shouting to everyone I have a gun" bull shit, why? Because almost no one seems to notice, most people now days are oblivious as hell anyway. I have only once had someone notice, and it was a older vet who came up and asked a few questions and went on his way. Local L.E.O. don't seem to care either.

I both CCW and open carry. Just depends on clothes, company, where I'm going etc. I also don't make it obvious as fucking hell with some chrome hey look at me shit and shirt tucked in. 99% of the time if I'm open carrying, it's casual clothes with my shirt covering probably half  to 3/4 of the pistol.

Definitely don't wear them under my butt. I'm 5' 11" with a 30" inseam, so I don't think my torso's that long, might be the angle of the pic, and taken in a mirror.

I know, I should just try it and not overthink it.  But I'm just curious as to what everyone thinks about it.  To me, it seems like it'd be harder to conceal.  But I've yet to try it.  And that might depend on how tight the holster keeps the gun to your body.  I have this kramer OWB thumbsnap leather holster for a 1911 and the grip always hung off my body a good bit.  And seemed to just make it stick out further than feasible for concealing.

I'm thinking about trying my G26 OWB for a few different reasons.  I've gained a few pounds and my pants are getting tight and I need new ones.   LOL.  I also was having some tailbone issues.  I sit on some hard chairs at church when teaching and the gun seemed to maybe make it a bit worse.  Despite that I've gained a few pounds, I'm still pretty skinny.

I know I'd probably have to have better cover garments then when I IWB.  But maybe not with the right holster.  I don't know.  I guess it woluld at least have to be long enough.  But the G26 has a pretty short slide, so.....

I have to OWB because there's no room in my pants for anything else but me (I'm a bit "fluffy" )! I just wear a large untucked shirt over it. In AZ you don't want tight clothes anyway.

For both my CZ 75 and my 1911 I bought Tagua Gunleather holsters. Good quality and not at all expensive (1911 holster I paid about $46). Found them in the holster database posted elsewhere in this forum.

Comfort and I don't want to have two sets of pants. One big enough for an IWB and the other for non gun carry.

Carry OWB and you will never go back, lol!!!! A good leather pancake holster can be the most comfortable and easy to conceal rig, especially if you have gained a few.

I just won a really nice Galco last night off eBay for a song.  Can't wait to try it out.

My big, fat guns are carried OWB.

In a pancake style holster it's no big deal. A proper cover garment and supportive belt is all that's required.

I don't carry the Smith too much as I'd like to keep it pretty FOREVER.

The holsters are both DeSantis closeout items.

Nice photography Rick.

I've always been uneasy with my OWB anywhere aft of 3:30.  I can't explain it and it doesn't make sense, but for whatever reason I like it up front where I can keep an eye on it.

I may have to try it like you have it in that last picture.  I've never pushed it that far around.

I can't get the butt (the guns, not mine)  to not stick out pretty much anywhere other than 3:00 or 3:30.

I switch between IWB and OWB depending on if i'm training/teaching or need deeper concealment for personal travel. Generally switching between a G17 OWB and a G43 IWB.

Why OWB you asked?

Well, honestly, OWB is just easier IMHO in many ways. I live in MN and we get both warm summers and cold winters, so clothing is changing a lot. Winter time IWB carry would be difficult with my thick leather jacket and be able to draw reasonably well, where as an OWB holster sticks out a little bit more, moving some clothing out of the way. Granted this is with a G17, so we aren't talking a very small gun, so concealment can be a little bit difficult. Originally I started with a Blackhawk Serpa holster, which works fairly well for me. Lately I've switched to a local company Ripcord Holsters ( www.ripcordholsters.com ) who makes custom kydex pressure fit IWB and OWB holsters. They do such a good work that all our instructors have switched over. Plus we know them personally and they have taken our feedback very well.

OWB doesn't work for me on the motorcycle very well. Even with the riding jacket most riding positions force the jacket to ride over my holster and there is NO point in carrying OPEN unless you absolutely have to. Even a t-shirt covering the majority of the gun around here is better than just carrying with the gun exposed, asking for trouble.

And don't think for a second that people are simply oblivious to your carry. Your Hat, Jacket, Shirt or even the way you move your body is a pretty good indicator if you're likely to have a gun. This is why an IWB is 'better' for me, as the gun is so much closer, and even a t-shirt can conceal the smaller firearm well enough.

Thanks.

That's where I belt carry. It's comfortable, tucks the butt in tight, and keeps the top/back of the gun from showing a bulge.

Sooner or later, I'm going to try OWB.  Maybe in the winter.  Athough with the right shirt, even in the summer might be doable.

Right now my G26 has been fine in an IWB.  Especially since I took the Talon grips off.  I don't need a t shirt between me and the gun.  And in the summer, it doesn't slip in my hands when shooting.  At all.  I think it will when winter comes though.

It isn't hard. The biggest issues I have when I have OWB'd is...

The outer shirt or jacket can look a little out of place in some places/weather.

You need to wear the belt high, your shirt long, or your holster short. Or some combination of two of those.

Wind.

I still IWB carry, but it really depends on my clothing attire.  My preference has been more and more towards OWB as many have already mentioned; and yes, your clothing attire can really make a difference for concealment.  A sports jacket is by far the easiest method if in a more dressy environment.  Aside from basic comfort, I really like the faster and easier access when training.  When it comes to concealment, I really thing we (in the CCW community) over think it way too much.  Yes, keeping your pistol covered up is important, but printing is overly feared.  I CCW at church where I serve a variety of greeting jobs and with an OWB holster under a sports jacket, I can withstand numerous hugs, greetings, moving furniture around (bending over, lifting, etc.) and I've never had an issue.  Give it a try, I'll think you'll find it's less of an issue for concealment than you think.

Glad you are carrying in church.  We have 4 guys that carry every Sunday that I know of.  I have one blazer and wear it only on occasion.  But I was thinking about getting another one or two with an OWB holster.  It seems like the way to go for church.

This.  Never could get it to be comfortable, even with a VMII.

I OWB carry a G19 or G23 in an Alessi CQC/S and it pretty much disappears.  Beltman belt.

cause it's comfy, easy, and some of my pants are not loose enough for iwb. And I have zero fear of a gun grab, or some crazy idea that I give up some advantage, or all that nonsense.
