I love my Glocks and my Dan Wesson VBOB. But, this is nice.

Nighthawk Browning Hi-Power

That is bad to the bone right there!

Looks Very good! Nothing wrong with a Hi Power; sounds like they maybe a bit fragile for a competition gun that is really going to get run hard but other than that.....

I stepped away recently and went back to this:

Pic shamelessly lifted from someone's photobucket account.

Pretty gun.  Prob feels great in hand.

Unloaded it weighs as much as a loaded G19, with less rounds when it is loaded.

Agree with OP.  For a fighting tool, nothing will pull me from Glock.

I know CSB.

Not to mention, SAO with a crappy safety, nothing like a 1911

I also love my 1911's, but you have to admit, that Browning Hi-Power is damn pretty to look at.

Looks like they solved the hammer bite issue with the extended beavertail.

I put hands on that at SHOT Show.. It just melted into my hand... Felt like cool steel hand sex.

Meh. They don't have to be so fancy.

Wonder what the trigger is like.... Hard to get a nice trigger on a BHP.

I completely agree, that's what my Dan Wesson VBOB is for. But, that HP is very nice looking.

Aside from the unique trigger reset, which takes some getting used to, HP triggers can be made to be very crisp, provided the idiotic magazine disconnect has been removed.

They are $440 from AIM. If you want it pretty, you can always get it re-finished. I honestly don't understand the $3,000 1911 or BHP. Sure I could afford it if it were a priority, but is it twice as good as a Colt or Dan Wesson, or three times as good as a Springfield? Not to me.

If someone used that grip texture on a Glock, everyone would cry about how ugly and pointless it is. Nighthawk does is to a BHP and people want to pay $3k.

Yep. But, a lot of people are paying to have their Glock stippled. So...they were already trying to match the Nighthawk and didn't know it yet.

As a competition shooter I understand the prices.  There was a time when I didn't but when you need your gun to shoot 1.5" groups at 50 yards then you can either refit and get good results or go full custom and get uber results!

Tell me about the CZ.

Not a P-01, not a standard compact.
Whatcha got there?

BTW, that Nighthawk is pure sex.  Had I $3k of fuck off money I'd be all over it, but it's just not reasonable.

The HP is a great handgun.  Used one for a bit and liked the magazine capacity.  But, decided a 1911A1 and the .45acp were more to my liking so I switched back.  Too bad no one was making hi cap 1911's back then.  The best of both worlds.

CZ 40P in.... .40 S&W

Basically a P-02 with a longer squared off slide.

That's legit. I'm not that's good of a shot.

My dad has a old hi power that was my grandfathers. I love shooting that gun. I would love to own a more modern version. Absolute pleasure to shoot. The thing is old, and beat up but shoots like a laser.

Nothing wrong with the various plastic guns if that's all you want or need.  However, once you get used to a top shelf 1911 or a custom Browning Hi Power it's hard to settle for purely utilitarian.
