Like the title says, which AK pistol would be the best for me to get if it will be my only AK SBR. I want to buy one soon and get the stamp submitted before 41F, and this will be my last SBR for quite some time.

Want to keep it to $600 or under not including stamp if possible.

Thanks

I would go with a Mini draco if you can find one.  I got mine for $480 new a few years back but I have not looked at current prices or availability.  They are easy to SBR with a Stormworx hinge and Manticore stock.  Mine runs like a top and is one of my favorite SBR's.

^Op said $600 or under. Either a M92 or Draco depending on how short you want it.

It's nice, though.

I've form 1'd a Draco and a M92. Both are fun to shoot, but the Draco stays in the safe most days; it's just more of a small rifle than what I was hoping. Don't get me wrong, I went with a vz58 folder on the Draco, and she is an awesome shooter, but the M92 is just right. I will advise you to get a linear break if you go with the M92, otherwise, it feels like someone is slapping you every time you pull the trigger..

I think "Krinkov-ish" would be as close as I would claim.  My idea of Krinkov is from the old Goldeneye movie, but there are purist that have a very specific set of criteria , and don't call it a krinkov.

My M92 does have a triangle folder and hinged top cover.  However, the barrel is around an inch too long, and the AKSU's were in 5.45 instead of 7.62.  All that being said, it's good enough to scratch my itch, and stands in perfectly well while I'm watching 007 careen through St Petersburg.

If I could be 1 AK to be an SBR but also have a 16" then I would go with a Mini Draco.

If I had to pick one AK for all purpose application that could be SBR'd and was around the $600 mark, Draco all day.

I just picked up a Draco to SBR. I think it's the perfect working length, but they don't look as cool as the M85/M92. Overall the quality is excellent! I cut the muzzle nut off yesterday and I'm trying to decide between a 4pc or vortex flash hider. I'll probably end up doing a Stormwerkz hinge with a Manticore stock.

Nice, that's pretty much what I want right there! How do you like the stock? What muzzle brake is that?

If you're only building one rifle, build a Draco. It's a do  everything gun.

Came to suggest this.

Maybe a "regular" draco pistol.
