Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Magpul AK handguard question.

Have standard Draco, and want a Magpul AK handguard instead of the AKM version that minds the sling loop (which under my impression, is rendered basically useless with a Magpul handguard).  Can I just hack off the sling loop and install a standard AK forend?  Has anyone done this that could give me some beta?
