I have around 1,400 rounds through my M92 SBR.  I decided to clean it this weekend and noticed some interesting wear on the bolt carrier.  I have another AK variant that has over 4K rounds and its bolt carrier does not have the same wear.  Is this normal?  It is worn on both sides.  Here is a pic.  Thanks in advance.

Isn't that the grinding marks from where the gas piston pin was ground flush?

If it is, I never noticed it before. Like I said, my other AK bolt carrier doesn't have these marks. It may be normal for the M92, that's why I'm asking. Thanks for the info.

Plenty of Century AK's have those same marks for the reason stated above.  GARY

It's normal and exists on new guns.

If it were wear marks the direction of the scratches would be front to back (turned 90 degrees)

Mine looks the same.  I'm pretty sure it's mfg markings.
