I know the legal hoops to jump through, and I'm sure this information is out there but an hour of searching has turned up no straight answer. My google FU is week tonight.

I want an AK pistol that is the easiest to attach a triangle stock to with the ace folder. I want to be able to drill and tap some holes on the receiver, and then bolt it up. Does such a thing exist? I feel like I've come across this information before, but can't find it for the life of me.

Stormwerkz hinge.

That's exactly how most people do it, in 10x32 threads IIRC.
Stormwerkz or ACE folding mechanisms will work equally well, but if you go with an ACE make sure to request the version without the boss (the raised oblong shaped section that protrudes from the receiver end).
Then it's just the Manticore Arms triangle stock, and you're set.

I remember reading somewhere that the yugos have a slanted rear trunion? Is that the pistols or is that the rifles?

Out of curiosity, why does the boss need to be avoided?

It's intended for use with their receiver blocks.  The boss sits in a channel that allows the stock to be adjusted.  Not needed if the hinge is attached directly to the rear trunnion.

Gotcha, that makes sense.

What's another good pistol to use? I can't find any Yugos available.

Mini dracos are perfect for tapping and mounting an ace folder. If you can't find a hinge in stock without the boss its fairly easy to file off.

What's a good price on one?

Around $500 is a decent price, seen them as low as $450.

What's the best way to mount a red dot to one of these? I hate AK sights, I've had several AKs and ended up selling them because of the weight and the sights. I always preferred the traditional look of an AK over a tacticool one, but for me to really enjoy shooting it I'm gonna have to put a red dot on it.

I like the TWS dogleg for the mini draco. You can also use the MI railed fore end. I have both on my mini draco. There is nothing I know of for the micro draco.

My M92 pistol has a slant.  It is no issue at all with the stock on.  There are shims to put behind the hinge to straighten it out, but I don't feel it is necessary.

Love my Mini Draco and would not get rid of it or trade it for anything (I have 6 other SBR's, two SBS's, and one DD and like this the best).  Took all of 25 minutes to drill and tap the back of the trunion to install the Stormwerkz Hinge.

This is what I'm doing but I'm going to mill the trunion for an underfolder.

I've got a sig brace on an AR and just don't really care for it. I'm in no way saying I'm going to do this, but I wish more people would just say screw it and make SBRs. If enough people ignored it for being a worthless law like it is they wouldn't bother enforcing it.

This is not me telling anyone to break the law, just speaking out of frustration for all the bullshit you have to go through to get a legal SBR.

I used the cheap Irwin drill and tap set from Lowes along with a Ryobi electric drill. My gun smith cringed, but it worked.

I'm in the same boat for optic's. Hard to see the irons and want to keep it as traditional as possible.
Going to try a burris fastfire with an Adecco mount which replaces the rear sight.

And on another Ak I'm going to use a mini red dot with the RS Regulate 301 mount. This thing is super light!

I have both mounts, just need both optic's :)
