I got this idea from an earlier thread where a guy used this same quadrail except I did something a little different.

Saiga quadrail

I removed the front sight and wood handguard lips and clamp

Hours of cutting, grinding, crying, questioning my manhood, and more grinding

Needs a little more work for final fit and some paint, but I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now if SLR will produce an SR muzzle brake in M26, then this thing will be complete.

Neat, never seen a snub nose AK with no front sight before. Looks very high tech.

I cried a little. That AK is scarred for life.

What rail is that, and where did you get it?

I like the way this looks, but I dont have the balls to hack away at my m92 like that. Is it possible to restore the original retaining clips that were removed?

so essentially the rail is free float? How does it attach to the receiver/front trunion?

I agree. I wish there was a way I could have done this and achieved this look without having to do what I did.

Monstrum Tactical quad rail for Saiga AK (not shotgun). Ebay $35ish shipped. Hours and hours of work, lots and lots of stress.

I would have to get a new gas tube and see if one could source the lower handguard retaining plate.  Plus the front sight is gone so a new gas block would be in order.

The rear clamps down on the trunnion and the front clamps down on the gas block.

I was actually kicking around the idea of cutting on the front sight, when I saw this thread, and picture, I really like it.

If you do not like the front sight removed, you can always replace what you have filed out

Or mount one on the rail
