There is a plate that rest on the inside wall of the receiver, it has some other parts attached to it. I think they originally had something to do with the burst feature on these guns. My question is, do these parts need to be remove even if they are not functional?

That plate probably holds your FCG pins in and without it your gun could go full auto. Does it look like this?

Yes, similar. But it has other parts on it. I have an Interarms Tantal also, it has the same plate, but the other parts have been removed.
