If you're referring to mine its a Global Trades SSR-85B: Polish parts built on an FEG receiver.

What do we have here!?! Please tell us more about whats going on in this picture with the obvious R&D work we see on the bottom rifle. What is that? A mag adaptor? I have been thinking about this idea also for my 84S... I would love to see a AR mag well adaptor developed that actually WORKS

Tell us more!

Outstanding job on the wood.  Did you use tung oil?

Yep.  Well, Formby's Low gloss tung oil.  I know it's not *real* tung oil, more of a finish, but I thought it turned out pretty good on the WASR.  Sanded it down to 400, then put on a coat every day, or two, or three, depending when I could get around to it.  I think I ended up putting about 8 coats on, took about two weeks at my slow pace.

These are my 5.45 rifles
Both have Russian plum stock sets and the proper amount of US parts.

The full stock AK started life as an SAR2, until JNEWT made it into a Russian clone with Bulgy parts.
The side folder is my favorite!  It is an ORF build.

How many rounds you have thru that thing.  It looks like it still might have its hymen.  Very nice BTW.

Heres my SAR-1 i picked up at the gun show yesterday, with a PK-AV i had sitting around itching to be mounted to something, anything. Sold my MAK-90 for $420, and got the SAR for $320. Had a better weekend than i expected.

You can also see my bulgarian AKS-74. Its missing something though.

My friend...some things are better left undone.

thank you
i used "Helmsman Spar Urethane" made by Minwax.
http://www.minwax.com/products/protective/helmsman.cfm
It is exterior grade, protects against sun, rain, temp. I sanded the furniture down in steps until i got it smooth with 400, then buffed it with steel wool. I used a brush to apply the clear, but had to sand it all off several times because I'm not much of a wood worker. I found out the hard way that you need a good brush.
Ironwood has an excellent how to section on their website.
Good Luck

carb, is that an original Russian Dragunov or is it a Romak 3 with a different handguard?

Its a Tiger.  Basically a sporterized Dragunov SVD with a shorter barrel.  Made in Russia.

Pretty much like dskeet said.  The Tiger differs from the military SVD by having a slightly shorter barrel, no bayo lug, no flash hider, and it does not have the adjustable gas system.  However, all of those differences are being worked on by dragunovparts.com with exception of the barrel length

Very nice!  A soviet slab side mag would be a nice addition or at least some steel mags.

Here is a little pictorial of the changes my SAR-1 has gone through over the last coupe of years. The first picture shows the gun straight out of the box:

First thing I did was make the finish look better, and eventually threading the barrel and putting on a -74 style brake:

With the expiration of the AWB, the pinned brake was removed and a slant brake added. The final touch was the recent addition of a Romy folder, and some tabs I welded onto the neutered gas block:

I'm very happy with the look of the rifle as it is now. There's probably no further changes I'm going to make.

My recent acquisition, a Bulgarian AK74 built by Troy over at InRange. I bought the rifle from Mbsk01, and it's in great shape. RSA trigger, nice finish. Only drawback: It's AWB-neutered. I might replace the FSB and brake eventually, but I'm very happy with it right now:

I've got a Kobra coming in the upcoming group buy, so it's going to wear different optics soon.
