Bought my first galil clone about 2 months ago from an Arfcommer.  It's an early 2000's ARS clone.

Knew enough after shooting it that I wanted the real deal.

Got this one on gunbroker.

Put the winning bid in tonight.   How'd I do?

Awesome IMO.

Nice to know mine has appreciated a tad since I bought it a few decades ago.

I no longer shoot mine, though.

You did well my friend. Like you I love old school Galils. I still shoot mine. Will you shoot it or will she be a safe Queen?

I think you'll enjoy it. I would much rather have it than those new imports they're calling Galils.

Haven't taken delivery yet.

Just ordered a surplus muzzle brake off Apex.

The one I won at auction has a three pronged flash hider on it.  Those aren't kosher, right?  Did they use them at all or was it just the muzzle brake or a2 looking birdcage?

ETA also ordered 20 steel surplus Galil mags, they're like 9.99 if you buy 10 or more.  I have a few for my ARS clone and 20 Tapco's (which shot great).  But I figured the surplus ones won't be available forever.

Also, HDH, I was looking at your mount with interest.  won't work for me because I'm a lefty and it appears to be offset, but I like the lower profile ones.  What kind is that?  Surplus?

ETA 2: this is the ARS clone I bought off migrapilot in the EE (not the one from the OP).  It's an ORF receiver...the mout cut out appears to be a little out of spec

Has anyone received any of the $10 mags from Apex yet? What kind of condition are they in? If we are talking finish wear, I'm going to order some but if we are talking dents, I'll hold off.

Thanks,
ARKAR

Supposed to be delivered tomorrow.  I'll post pics, though they were sold as in "good" condition.

I don't think any reasonable person would call dents "good".

I'll really be disappointed if they're dented.

No time for pics. good shape, no dents: most are 75% or above still finish.  Some little superficial rust spots on 4 or 5 of the 20.

Am thinking of ordering another 10

Does anyone know if they originally had the three pronged flash hider?

I ordered galil bird cage fh for the sar to replace the 3 prong, but it looks like it's original. Is it?

https://promagindustries.com/scope-mounts/364-galil-scope-mount.html

I had to shim it to get the scope to zero, otherwise it works just fine.

Looks good OP! Price looks a whole lot better than what I'm seeing on GB right now. Want one myself but everybody selling at the moment seems really proud of their rifles.
