Seems like they are unfinished, but may have some residual oil from being slathered up from the factory.

Any one finish theirs?  I was thinking of Tung oil to seal it up.

That's what I used. A bunch of coats.
Degrease them first.

What did you degrease with?  Mineral spirits?

BLO or Tung Oil works good.



Acetone does a great job of cleaning the wood prior to finishing.

Mine were unfinished. I sanded them with steel wool then finished them with red food coloring and gloss polyurethane
