I know this is like finding a needle in a haystack but I
figure why not try. I ordered a Yugo SKS from Classic Firearms (2) weeks ago
and just got around to cleaning it. Upon inspection I realized all numbers
match on all parts except the gas tube. The gas tube that was installed on my
rifle is for rifle serial number 574597. The rifle I received serial number is
574961.
As stated in the add Classic
does not guarantee that all parts match but I was hoping for a matching rifle. Since
the rifle serial numbers were so close I decided to call Classic and ask them
if they received Rifle 574597. If they had the rifle I was thinking about
buying it or asking them to look and see if the gas tube for the rifle I
received was installed in that one. I called today and spoke with a very nice
lady who informed me that they had received the rifle but it was sold around
the same time I bought my rifle. They were unable to tell me who the end user
was just that it was sent to an FFL. So now I’m reaching out to you fellow
enthusiasts to try and track down that SKS.
My hopes are that if I find the owner my gas
tube is installed in their rifle and we can switch and both have matching
rifles.

I’m going to post on a couple forums to increase my chances.

Thanks for any help.

Jeremy
