This gun is for sale on a local board, wondering if its a good deal. Asking price is $350.

Described as a Norinco SKS with all matching numbers. Any specific questions I should ask the guy?

It's hard to see from the pics but ask him if it has a threaded or pinned barrel.

That's a threaded barrel.

Those are more desirable.

I just sold one not that much different than that for 400, so yeah 350 isn't too bad.

It is still a bit high for a chicom but not aweful. Try talking him down 25-30...

It looks like a nice carbine. If its unfired then $350 is not outrageous. Check the bore, gas system and bolt face to ensure its GTG.  If you buy it and Tapco it out, we will hunt you down and flog you SKS cleaning rods.

I'd fo if I was in the market.  Also, I will hold you down while TnMike plays your head like Neal Peart doing a drum solo.

I'd buy it for 350.  Have a Norinco SKS, very similar to that one and I love it.

I didn't end up buying it, bought an M92 to SBR instead. Also the seller was an hour away in Miami, I avoid that place like the plague.

SKS Threaded vs Pinned Barrel

The one on the left is threaded (short collar) and the one on the right is pinned.

The pinned barrel is slid into the receiver and then pinned (kind of like a FSB on an AR).

There are also two types of threaded barrels, long and short. The long version has a longer collar and the short one has a shorter collar.

SKS Long Collar, Short Collar, Pinned Barrel

Hope this helps.
