I sold this rifle to someone several months back and it has developed this issue.It fails to feed on the last round of the magazine,does this with all the mags he has tried,does it whether the mag is fully loaded or only has a few round in it.
He has been told it is the bullet guide,and from my reading it does appear this is what most people agree is the culprit.
However,if it was the bullet guide,why only on the last round?
To my mind,if the bullet guide was the problem,it would happen all the time.
This was an import company converted Saiga(back half only) but I cannot recall which importer.

If the FTF hits the lower part of the chamber -- probably bullet guide. If it's only the last round, I'd carefully ramp and polish the face of the chamber. Check this:

This is a Bulgy rifle but the same approach on the Saiga will work. Just don't go way into the chamber with the ramp - that would be bad.


If the round is rising and misses or strikes high, or jams with the bolt on top of the round, I'd try holding the mag with rearward pressure on it. If rifle now feeds fine, somehow the mags now sit lower than before and you may need a new mag catch. Although it should jam on more than only the last round if this were the case.

What ammo is the rifle firing? Some guns won't feed hollow points, soft points..., well and the above fix fixes that.
