Ultimak upper and lower, ACE folding stock, Tapco SAW grip, Tapco FCG, Red/Green dot.

Does the dot hold zero with the Ultimak upper?

Just put it all together last night.  Went to the range earlier for about an hour, about to head back.  So far it is doing good, but I needed to tighten it up a bit so I'll know more in a few days.

I have an Ultimak on my MAK 90 with a Busnell red dot and it holds zero just fine. I have about 500-600 rounds through it with the optics.

ONE is NEVER enough!!!!!!!  I miss the old days when they were affordable.  I bought my Norinco in 1988 for $350!!!!!  Too bad this country is so screwed up!  Wouldn't it be nice to be able to collect the things we like without all the drama of politics?  I miss the good old days when America was respected for its freedoms.  Now we're just a joke!  Oh well.....I still love my AKs and will continue to collect them for as long as I am able!!!!

Dude!  That is sweet!  I like the AR also.  I just bought a RRA LAR-15 with 16" barrel and Dominator Eotech Mount!  Can't wait to pick it up from the dealer (they have to order them because they are all hand built one at a time!!!!).  Would love to get an MAK-90 eventually, but I think my next one is going to be the Polish Tantal.  I do highly reccomend that you get one of the YUGO M70 AB2 Underfolder builds from Century International Arms as soon as you can if you want an AK that will be highly collectible in the years to come!  I bought mine from Atlantic Firearms for $599 (plus S&H and then of course dealer transfer and FDLE).  Take care!!!

ETA:Well, I decided to give it a whirl on my own if only to say that I at least tried. I went to Wally World, picked up some Krylon Camo paint, and stayed up until 3AM playing around it. I cleaned the rifle with brake cleaner, hung it up in my garage, and free-handed it. I decided to go Krylon first since this was my first attempt at anything like this, and if I screwed up, I wanted to have the option of undoing the damage.

The result:

Believe it or not, but the camera actually had a hard time focusing on the damned thing. Maybe the pattern is better than I thought.

I decided to skip the optic. I never got used to the lines, but I will admit that I LOVE the lines of the UltiMak scope mount as-is. Not the cheapest cosmetic adjustment, but I'm happy, and I can always throw an optic on it later if I choose.

I only painted on mag because I want to get a feel for how durable the finish will be. Anyplace where metal rubs against metal is already scraped bare, as you can see right above the safety lever. Maybe I'll try a mag in Duracoat in the future to see how that goes, but for now, this will do.

Now, I just have to go and fire it someplace!

heres my ultimaked mak90 with a cheepie simmons red dot and choate stock. it has never jammed or wavered zero with an excess of 5000 rounds of wolf put through it. it is a true assualt rifle that just keeps chuggin along. i was lucky enough to pick it up and reg it before the cali bann hit, my only regret is that i didn't pick up a half dozen of them at $199.99

Mak-90 that I converted from the bunghole stock back to an underfolder.  The wood does match just the flash makes it look funny

Here are my three. From the top, Norinco 84S, bought a few months ago, unfired. Next is my MAK-90, soon to be wearing wood furniture and flash suppressor. Last is my NHM-91 with a home-made club stock. I will be trimming that down a bit and adding a flash suppressor and sling.

I've got a couple of POLY TECH AKs done by SWD before the 86 MG ban.
The top one I have left alone.
The bottom one I turned into a 5.45 Krink using a new Bulgarian kit with a few Russian parts and a Polish grip.

Here is a pic of my Norinco AK-84S. I'm currently waiting on an oringinal dust cover from Polytechparts.com.....I'm hoping it'll be in sometime next week...I'll update the pics once I get it and put it on.

And here is a pic of my beautiful girlfriend about to shoot it. (Couldn't get her to keep the stock positioned right on her shoulder, she'll learn one day)
